Crystal City and Potomac Yard Transitway homes

The New Transitway Has Arrived!

Now open! The special new dedicated bus lanes in Crystal City and Potomac Yard are ready to help you with faster and more reliable trips for it's riders.

There are two rush hour bus lanes:

  • Crystal Drive - northbound curbside land between 26th & 15th Streets.
  • South Clark-Bell Street - one southbound land between 15th & 26th Streets

During rush hours, use is restricted to buses only (and turning cars). Weekdays between 6-9am and 3:30-7pm - only buses are allowed. Other vehicles may enter only to make a right turn at the next corner or driveway.

All other times, any vehicle can use the lane. You'll see brightly illuminated signs to help guide you when the bus-only restriction is in force.

Cyclists are allowed to use the bus lane where arrows are marked on the pavement and the signage indicated "Bicycles Ok". If a dedicated bike lane exists, cyclists may not use the bus lane.

There are Exclusive Bus Lanes located alongside of South Glebe Rd, Route 1 and Crystal Drive up to 26th Street. No cars, bikes or trucks allowed at any time.

Now you can shop, eat and drink and still be on a car-free diet
